Nothing shows dynamic AI home screen as a prototype

Smartphone maker Nothing has shown a prototype of a dynamic AI home screen that automatically combines data from various sources. It should lead to a software function that will be released next year.

The prototype of the home screen shows a QR code for checking in for a flight agenda item, for example, as can be seen from the video that Nothing founder Carl Pei posted. At the top are categories for apps, a scrolling weather report, reminders and widgets. The intention is for the home screen to combine information from all kinds of apps and online sources.

The idea of ​​a dynamic home screen with information from various sources is not new. The tiles in Windows Phone 7, 8 and Windows Mobile 10 were based on that idea, as were Sony Ericsson's Timescape and Mediascape and HTC Sense. The idea of ​​those interfaces, all from the early 1910s, was just like today that phone users would no longer want to open separate apps for everything. In addition to the home screen, Nothing also showed a voice assistant that is baked into the software. Its interface consists of some light surfaces that are probably supposed to represent eyes.
