Guild Wars 2 expansion Janthir Wilds will be released on August 20

Guild Wars 2 is getting a new expansion on August 20. Guild Wars 2: Janthir Wilds includes a new weapon, as well as a Homesteads feature that allows players to customize and decorate their own home.

Guild Wars 2: Janthir Wilds takes place in the 'Isles of Janthir', which until now have been guarded by the wizards of the Astral Ward. World leaders have decided to start a so-called Tyrian Alliance and send out the wayfinder to find new allies. Players are tasked with exploring the Kodan colony in Janthir, battling enemies and discovering more about Tyria's past.

The expansion brings a new weapon to the game for the first time since the release of Guild Wars 2 the game. It is a two-handed spear, which will be available to all character types in the game. Furthermore, the expansion offers two new maps, namely the Lowland Shore and the Janthir Syntri.

Also new is the Homesteads feature, which gives players their own home. This instance contains its own building and a piece of land. Players decide for themselves how this part is organized and can invite friends to come over.

Guild Wars 2: Janthir Wilds finally contains an improved mount that can also be used in the open world and a new raid and Ten-player challenge mode and a new PvP mode. The expansion will be released on August 20 for 25 euros.
