Twitch will increase the monthly price of the Tier 1 channel subscription by 1 euro. This subscription now costs 5 euros per month instead of 4 euros. This subscription applies to one channel and allows users, among other things, to watch ad-free on that channel.
The platform says that the price increase is 'part of our commitment to helping creators build and grow their communities'. The price increase applies in dozens of countries, including Belgium and the Netherlands. It is the first time that Twitch has increased the price of a channel subscription. The prices of the Tier 2 and Tier 3 subscriptions will not be adjusted.
Twitch says that streamers will keep the same percentage of the channel subscriptions; Streamers therefore also benefit per Tier 1 channel subscription. Streamers get 50 to 70 percent of channel subscriptions. In addition to ad-free viewing, Tier 1 offers additional emotes and badges. At Tier 2 and Tier 3, subscribers get even more emotes and badges. In addition to the channel subscriptions, there is also Turbo, which allows subscribers to watch ad-free across the entire platform. Twitch increased the price of this subscription last year by 3 euros to 12 euros.
