Hundreds of thousands of people – including people from neighboring countries – took part in the demonstration in the the Hungarian capital on Saturday.

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán gave a speech urging voters to support pro-peace parties in the upcoming European Parliament and local elections.

– Hungarians have a simple choice: vote for the peace candidates of the ruling Fidesz party in the upcoming EU elections or for the warmongering candidates of the left, Orbán said in his speech.

He continued:

– We are the only peace-friendly government in the EU. The Vatican is also on the side of peace, but represents a kingdom that is not of this world – and in an apostate Europe, that alone will not be enough to put a stop to the rapid war train.

The Hungarian leader added that if the left decides, it will inevitably lead to Hungary being dragged into a war it does not want.

– We must face the facts: if the left wins, it will only be a matter of time before the war catches up with us. Those who support the war have placed themselves outside the bounds of common sense. The supporters of the war have become drunk. They want to defeat Russia, as they tried to do during the First and Second World Wars, he said.

Orbán also pointed out that the Hungarian left is financed by George Soros and is implementing the financial billionaire's own plan for Europe:

– The Hungarian left pays George Soros. He funds their media, and their electoral rolls are full of his people. Anyone there who doesn't march in time will lose their dollars. And the Hungarian left is willingly marching, even betraying its own pro-peace voters, just to get to power. But we on the national side have no intention of obeying the “Soros plan” generals in Brussels.
