At the shooting, 21 shots were fired with an automatic weapon at a group of people standing outside the subway station on Farsta Torg.

Two people – a 15-year-old boy and a 45-year-old man – were killed. Another 30 or so people were exposed to life-threatening conditions, some of which were slightly injured. Four men have been charged for having been involved in the shooting in various ways.

The district court is now sentencing the shooter and the man who acted as a driver for two counts of murder, 17 counts of attempted murder and for causing danger to another.

The shooter, Milosz Olak, is a Polish citizen and previously convicted of having robbed a young Swede together with other immigrants in degrading ways.

The driver's name is Ronnie Casim Delen, he lives in Södertälje and has a father, Hussein, who immigrated from Syria and a mother who immigrated from Iran. He has previously received a sentence for minor drug offences.

The district court considers that the investigation shows that they have acted on behalf of people who are connected to criminal networks and that the mission was to shoot people in a rival gang. The men are also convicted of additional crimes and acquitted on a charge of serious threat to an official. The sentence for both of them has been set at life imprisonment.

Milosz Olak lacks Swedish citizenship and the district court has decided that he should be deported for life. Due to the seriousness of the crimes, the return ban is not time-limited.

The two other men on trial are cousins. They have been involved in the reconnaissance before the shooting. One of the men acted as a scout and was on site in the Farsta center, while the other engaged his cousin to take on the mission. The district court considers that, through their respective actions, they enabled the shooting of the persons targeted by the reconnaissance mission. They must therefore be sentenced for aiding and abetting one of the murders and aiding and abetting seven of the attempted murders. The men are acquitted of the charges that include the other plaintiffs. The sentence for the cousins has been set at 15 years and 10 months and 12 years and 10 months respectively.

According to the district court, the shooting has connections to the ongoing wave of violence in the Stockholm area.

– This is an extremely reckless shooting on a Saturday afternoon when many people were in motion on Farsta torg. The actions of the defendants show a total indifference to other people's lives, says chief councilor Agneta Kornstrand, who has been the chair of the case in a statement.

However, the two cousins have not been directly involved in the shooting itself. The district court has therefore assessed that their actions constitute aiding and abetting the main crimes. Based on the evidence that has been presented, it has not been proven that the cousins' intent extends further than the group of people that were spied on. They should therefore not be sentenced for the crimes against the other plaintiffs.

– For the shooter and the driver, any other punishment than life imprisonment cannot be considered. The crime is so serious that the driver is deported for life. Since the two cousins are only convicted of aiding and abetting part of the crimes, the punishment for them is lower. One of them has also contributed important information within the framework of another preliminary investigation. He therefore receives a sentence reduction for this in accordance with current law, says Agneta Kornstrand.

All plaintiffs have received damages in accordance with current practice.
