It started with SD's top candidate in the EU elections, Charlie Weimers, being interviewed in Expressen and saying that SD is prepared to cooperate with right-wing populist parties within the EU even if they do not share the social conservative party's US loyalty line in matters of Russia and Ukraine.
– The cooperation does not include Russia and Ukraine. There we collaborate with others. The cooperation should cover issues related to climate, energy, migration, security, terrorism and regulatory simplification, said Charlie Weimers.
Expressen's headline for the article became “SD ready for cooperation with pro-Russian parties”.
“After that, the usual spin starts”, writes Jimmie Åkesson on X.
Expressen quickly followed up with an article by Patrik Kronqvist stating that “SD does not want to end Putin's online warriors”. The article is entitled “The link to Putin reveals the SD's dilemma”.
Jimmie Åkesson notes that “the collective conspiracy” is now fabulating about security threats and conspiracies.
– Wanting to cooperate with pro-Russian parties, it's risking the safety of the Swedish people, said Magdalena Andersson in her speech during the multicultural festival Järvaveckan in Stockholm.
“It's really, really dirty. Even coming from Magdalena Andersson,” writes Jimmie Åkesson on X.
