Amazon will publish the first game from former Forza Horizon developers

Amazon announces a partnership with Maverick Games, founded by former employees of Forza developer Playground. Amazon will publish the first Maverick game. The name of the game has not yet been announced.

The first Maverick game will be a 'story-driven racing game with an open world', Amazon writes in a press release. The game will be available at launch for the PS5, Xbox Series X and S and PC, although it is not yet known when exactly the game will be released. Maverick Games was founded in the United Kingdom in 2022 and currently has more than sixty employees. Former creative director of Forza Horizon, Mike Brown, heads the studio.

Amazon, in turn, has been expanding in the games market for some time. It develops its own games, such as New World and the future The Lord of The Rings mmo. Amazon has also long served as a publisher for games from other developers. For example, it is working with Crystal Dynamics on the next Tomb Raider game.
