Rumor: id Software to show Doom: The Dark Ages at Xbox Games Showcase

Developer id Software will showcase a new game from the Doom franchise during the upcoming Xbox Games Showcase. This is confirmed by gaming journalist Tom Henderson. According to Henderson, the game is called Doom: The Dark Ages.

Henderson writes on Insider Gaming that there will be elements of a medieval game world in the first-person shooter. However, it is not clear exactly which elements. The game has been in development for at least four years. Henderson confirms an earlier hint from The Verge journalist Tom Warren. It had indicated last month that new information about a new Doom game will be provided during the next Xbox Games Showcase.

Microsoft will hold an Xbox Games Showcase event via a livestream on June 9. This will be followed by an event, presumably dedicated to Call of Duty. The event will start at 7:00 PM Dutch time.
