Lithuania's Interior Minister Agne Bilotaite made the announcement on Friday.
– This is something completely new, a drone wall that stretches from Norway to Poland. The goal is to use drones and other technology to protect our borders, she tells the news agency BNS.
Bilotaite continues:
– Not only with physical infrastructure, surveillance systems, but also with drones and other technologies that will enable us to protect ourselves against provocations from unfriendly countries and prevent smuggling.
In addition to deploying drones to monitor the border, the countries will reportedly use anti-drone systems to stop hostile drones.
Poland, Estonia and Latvia are also included in the drone pact.
However, there is no date for when the “wall” will be put up.
