Kristersson sells his luxury villa – deletes toilet picture

The picture of the politician's luxury toilet showed that he had a picture of the royal couple in the toilet, which many drew attention to on social media. After some time, however, the picture on the toilet was removed.

– There were a lot of people who thought it was funny that he had the royal couple in the toilet. Then there were also many comments that he has a very nice home and some thought he had bad taste, says the broker Per Johansson to the newspaper.

The villa is being sold via the British luxury broker Sotheby's, which sells insanely expensive objects all over the world. The broker has not set an asking price for the property.

The fact that Kristersson has chosen to hire a luxury realtor and to show such a large number of pictures from his lavish residence is something that surprised the real estate industry, as the politician's behavior is something that differs from how the traditional upper class usually act when they hand over more expensive properties.

– The more expensive and exclusive a home is, the more discreet you usually want to keep it, observes Johansson.

At the same time, he believes that the politician's pursuit of the maximum amount of money may be a motive behind the slightly strange the choice of advertising.

– If you want the maximum price, maybe you choose to go out with an ad regardless of who you are, he says.

The culture writer Gunilla Brodrej instead believes that it is Kristersson's need to be seen that is behind the large number pictures in the ad.

“Here the story of the quality-loving Swedish bourgeoisie is told,” she notes in Expressen and continues:

“There we have the wine cellar with drunken popes. So they also take a bottle of red for the Friday carbonara. There is the color-matched art. The laundry room with SURFACES! It is not the first time that Kristersson's housing career has come under the spotlight. In 2009, Stockholm's then social welfare councilor Ulf Kristersson was investigated for corruption after it emerged that, during his time as a social welfare councilor, he had usurped an exclusive apartment contract on Södermalm, which was actually earmarked for the sick or homeless.

– It was good that it was investigated thoroughly because it turned out that I did nothing wrong, Kristersson said after the incident.

However, many believed that it was wrong even though Kristersson was acquitted in court. The politician got the contract through personal contacts with First Director Thorbjörn Larsson, who is also a professional politician. The apartment belonged to Ersta Diakoni and was thus intended for society's most vulnerable, and not for politicians.
