The Ring SoC is already well under development, reports Kartikey Singh. An earlier rumor indicates that Xiaomi has sought cooperation with MediaTek to develop the SoC. Because of the many elements, developing a social media is complex. Companies such as Google and Apple also started by basing themselves on a well-known SoC from another manufacturer and then adapting it to their own wishes. In both cases, Apple and Google involved a collaboration with Samsung.
The Xiaomi Ring is said to have performance in line with last year's Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. This would make it intended for midrange smartphones this fall or next year. Xiaomi has already produced a SoC before, the Surge S1 in the Mi 5c. It came out in 2017 and never got a successor.
