Antec has unveiled its first gaming handheld with the Core HS. This is a renamed version of the Ayaneo Slide. Both consoles combine an AMD Ryzen 7 7840U processor with a sliding screen that covers a keyboard.
Antec confirms that the device has an AMD Ryzen 7 7840U processor under the hood and runs Windows 11. With eight cores, sixteen threads and twelve RDNA 3 compute units, it offers similar specifications to the Ryzen Z1 Extreme of the ASUS ROG Ally and Lenovo Legion Go. Besides the 46.2Wh battery, Antec does not mention any concrete features. The manufacturer's images show that there will be at least a white and a black color option.
The specifications of the Ayaneo Slide are known, writes Tom's Hardware. This handheld features a 6” 1080p resolution display that tilts up to 30 degrees and extends to reveal the backlit keyboard. Ayaneo offers configurations with 16, 32 and 64GB lpddr5x ram, followed by 512GB, 2TB and 4TB storage in the form of a PCIe 4.0 M2 2280 SSD.
The formal introduction of the Antec Core HS takes place will take place in Taipei, probably as part of the Computex fair in early June. Antec has told Liberty Times that the first copies of the device will be shipped to Europe during June and July. Depending on the specific model, the console will cost between $600 and $900.
