A comment from a woman – Frida, 35 – reads: “My husband completely lacks the ability to plan so action and cooking fall on me.”
– It is a power to be the one who decides and makes the purchase decisions, not least when what we shop and eat tells us a lot about what we stand for on a social level and think is important. It can feel somewhat disappointing that we have not come further. It is still the women who put in the time, manage the expectations and shoulder the responsibility in the kitchen. But we must not forget that there is great economic power in women, says Carolina Månsson, Head of Insights at Aller Media.
Half of all women refrain from buying certain brands for ethical reasons. At the same time, the report shows that price is the deciding factor for most people when shopping. Cooking, eating and shopping cheaply is a high priority for women of all ages. Price is even more important than taste when shopping.
