Domestic. Approximately 34,000 people from Ukraine have so far been granted extended protection under the mass refugee directive.

Over 95 percent of those who applied have now received their decisions. So far, almost everyone whose cases have been tried has been granted an extended residence permit until March 4, 2025, according to the Migration Agency.
During the period from January 29 to March 4, Ukrainians with protection under the Mass Refugee Directive could apply to extend their residence permits. About 35,000 people sent in an application for an extension.
The Swedish Migration Agency has now made decisions in about 34,000 cases and almost as many people have been granted continued protection. Around 1,000 extension applications remain to be decided.
A total of nearly 39,000 people with temporary protection are currently enrolled in the reception system (the figure includes both granted first-time and extension applications).
