Pim van Dorpel was the top candidate to lead LO , but after the resignation Johan Lindholm was elected instead as the new chairman.
Now van Dorpel – who took sick leave in connection with the incident – tells Arbetet what happened.
He says that the selection committee and LO last week received calls about his past and about his high school years. It was alleged that he had been a neo-Nazi during his schooling.
– At the time I called myself a patriot or friend of Sweden. I was 14 years old. A child. I couldn't even organize the cleaning of my room, says Pim van Dorpel to Arbetet.
He says that he left the immigration-critical environment already at the end of junior high school after visiting a monastery where the nuns “hid refugees”.
At the same time, Pim van Dorpel does not want to “beautify” what happened, and states that he attended “parties where white power music was played” and was “filled with venom and hatred”.
p>- I also know that I was at an Ultima Thule concert in Nyköping, says Pim van Dorpel to Arbetet.
