Sonos announces the Sonos Ace. The headphones work wirelessly via Bluetooth 5.4 or wired via USB-C and support active noise cancellation. The headphones will be available from June 5 for 499 euros in black and white.
The audio brand focuses on a home theater experience with the Ace. The Sonos Ace supports Dolby Atmos, among other things, and should simulate a surround sound system thanks to TrueCinema technology. TVs can also transmit the sound to the headphones via WiFi in combination with 'suitable Sonos soundbars', although the company does not explain which soundbars are involved. In addition to active noise cancellation, the headphones also support a transparency mode that the brand calls Aware. According to the audio brand, the battery of the Ace should last up to 30 hours with ANC enabled. The headphones can be charged within three minutes with the included USB-C cable for three hours of use. The earcups are equipped with 40mm drivers and eight microphones. Sonos has incorporated a button and a metal slider for audio controls in the right ear cup. It is also noticeable that the headband is made of stainless steel.
