New BV says it will continue with Refurbished.nl and acknowledges the impact of bankruptcy

The new company Refurbished Store International BV says it will continue with Refurbished.nl. The company that until recently owned that online store went bankrupt this week. The new company says it wants to take over claims.

Refurbished Store International has been the owner of Refurbished.nl since the end of March, but the bankruptcy nevertheless has an impact on the webshop, the company acknowledges in a statement on its own site. “The new operator Refurbished.store International BV is determined to investigate the possibilities of taking over consumer claims from Refurbished.nl BV where possible. This process initially focuses on feasibility, without being able to give any guarantee about the final results .”

In addition, sellers must ship products faster and there will be a rate increase for those sellers that should help the company become financially healthy. Refurbished Store International also says it uses 'advanced technologies such as AI' to make business operations cheaper.

This week it emerged that the BV that owned Refurbished.nl has been declared bankrupt. The company has been controversial for some time. In February, the Consumers' Association advised consumers against placing orders with the company. That would result in orders being delivered late or not at all and refunds would also not be processed correctly. The company also received poor reviews in the Tweakers Pricewatch.
