Kijkwijzer makers present Gamewijzer with information about games for parents

The makers of the Dutch Kijkwijzer have presented Gamewijzer, a website with information for parents about games that are popular among children and young people. The intention is to give parents a tool to deal well with gaming children.

The Dutch Institute for the Classification of Audiovisual Media, which has been producing the Kijkwijzer for decades, writes that the site includes general information provides information about the games, in addition to information about whether there are in-game purchases and whether children can come into contact with strangers in the game.

The site shows, among other things, the PEGI rating and describes approximately the story and the graphics. It also contains tips on limiting playing time. For example, with Among Us it says: “Agree at home how many games of Among Us you can play. This sometimes works better than agreeing on screen time: you cannot pause a game of Among Us once you have started. If you stop, you are lying down. out.” The site also contains a glossary of popular terms from games, the 'gaming dictionary'.
