Domestic. After 45 years, the Department of Gender Studies at Lund University ceases to exist as a separate unit. The reason is, among other things, work environment problems and internal conflicts, writes Sydsvenskan.

The Department of Gender Studies at Lund University was founded in 1978, but in recent years has been marked by problems.
Sydsvenskan writes that, according to the university, it is about “organizational challenges, which, among other things, are derived from internal difficulties in obtaining good legitimacy for heads of departments with attrition, work environment problems and operational risks as a result”.
p>The faculty board at the university is now planning to close the Department of Gender Studies and integrate the activities into the Department of Sociology. It is expected that this restructuring will be completed by the end of the year, writes Sydsvenskan.
