Developer creates tool to make PC ports of Nintendo 64 games faster

Developer Mr-Wiseguy has created a tool that can speed up the process of creating unofficial PC ports of Nintendo 64 games. The original game files can be converted into an executable .exe file with the tool in a short time.

To avoid legal disputes, users must provide their own game files, writes VGC. Mr-Wiseguy's software extracts all the necessary data such as characters, audio and textures from the Nintendo 64 ROM and combines it with the decompiled code to create a PC version. The process does not always appear to be completely error-free, but it works a lot faster than the regular process of making ports for PC.

Mr-Wiseguy says he has achieved a 'complete created and released a working PC port of The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. At the same time, Harbor Masters, who previously also released a PC port of the Zelda game Ocarina of Time, has been working on a PC port of Majora's Mask for several months. The entire process can sometimes take years.
