Valve will be testing some HDMI CEC features in its latest preview build of SteamOS for the Steam Deck. This allows the user to use the Steam Deck in combination with the docking station to turn on the television and switch inputs.
The functions are listed in the overview of additions that preview build 3.6.0 brings. The HDMI CEC functions should make it easier to use the Steam Deck in combination with a television. Testers can also choose which Bluetooth devices can wake their Steam Deck from sleep mode. Other notable changes in the preview build include the improved pairing of AirPods with the Steam Deck, an update to Linux kernel 6.5 and support for Bluetooth profiles A2DP and BAP.
