“Cold facts” infiltration of the Sweden Democrats has led to accusations of a “troll factory” and also created a bad atmosphere among the Tidö parties.

Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M) said at a press conference today that SD “appears to have serious problems in its communications department”. He also said that the party must “fully” answer the “questions that are asked” due to the disclosure.

The Sweden Democrats are now countering with a speech by Jimmie Åkesson.

In the speech, the party leader calls TV4's revelation “a gigantic domestic influence operation from the united left-liberal establishment”.

– The aim is both to mobilize left-liberal voters and to demoralize SD voters, says Jimmie Åkesson.

– As usual, we see unrestrained campaign journalism also on news sites and in so-called investigative television programs. Instead of pure play with political arguments and debate, one often falls for home-made smear campaigns without any factual basis.

According to Åkesson, TV4 has “through elaborate manipulation, stealth filming and extreme dramatization” tried to demonstrate that Sweden Democrats “spread misinformation and a false image of reality”.

– The only thing they have managed to show, however, is how to do exactly that that we are accused of. It is pure disinformation that they engage in.

The SD leader takes as an example the framing in Kalla fakta's reportage.

– Why is an actor, dressed as a so-called “anonymous source”, wearing a robber's hat interviewed in a shady parking garage? Why are fully public figures surreptitiously photographed as they come out of the gate to their workplace, as if they were the subject of police surveillance? The drawing of SD's premises à la Jönssonligan. The downright silly talk about the surreptitiously filming reporter's emergency phone. The dramatic music. This is actually one of the most bizarre things I've ever experienced, and I've been involved in a lot during the years I've been politically active, says Jimmie Åkesson.

TV4's “disinformation” is further reinforced by “their friends in other media and politics spinning and reinforcing their narrative”. . And we happen to be damn good at it, by far the best in Sweden. And I understand that it irritates both the old parties in power and the traditional newsrooms that previously had the exclusive right to convey reality through their left-liberal filter, says Jimmie Åkesson.

The SD leader then addresses himself directly to “this klägg” consisting of politicians, journalists and activists:

– Do you know one thing? We are not ashamed. It is not us who have destroyed Sweden. It is not us who have turned one of the world's safest and richest countries into the chaos that our children are now forced to grow up in. You are the ones to blame. And no matter how much you try to cover it up with diversionary lying activism, we will not forget what you have done to our country. And we will not stop telling you about the enormous damage you have caused.
