– We have done some big changes, says the Left Party's party leader Nooshi Dadgostar to SVT.
One of the most striking changes is that several traditional left-wing expressions have been removed. Previous formulations that talked about abolishing capitalism and state-owned banks have been deleted and the emphasis is now on “democratizing” the banking system.
In the new program there is also a noticeable change in the party's view of NATO and Swedish arms exports.< /p>
Also the attitude towards the EU has changed.
– We have made some big changes, such as the fact that we now have a program that says how we want to change the EU and does not highlight leaving the EU , says Jonas Sjöstedt, V's first name before the EU elections, to SVT.
According to SVT's domestic policy commentator Elisabeth Marmorstein, the purpose of these changes is to open up the possibility of being part of a future government led of the Social Democrats. Then it is important to become bigger than the Center Party and the Green Party, according to her.
