Microsoft is working on a floating sidebar in Windows 11 that shows information such as a weather forecast or stock market information. The bar can be seen next to the start menu and can be customized to your preference.
The Start Menu Companions feature is included in beta version 26212 of Windows 11. According to the X account @thebookisclosed, users can determine whether the bar to the left or right of the start menu appears. There is also the option to remove the beam completely. What information the bar shows can be adjusted in the settings. There are also links to the source sites, should the user wish to customize the information even further.
