Domestic. Welcome back. That is the message in a new guiding judgment from the Göte Court of Appeal, where the court overturns the district court's lifetime deportation of a man who raped a female colleague at an LSS residence in Hultsfred.

The Court of Appeal therefore considers that there are reasons to limit the return travel ban and that the ban period should be set at ten years. The district court's decision regarding deportation must be changed accordingly,” writes the court of appeal in its judgment.
Whether the immigrant has ever worked in Sweden is not clear. However, it appears that he has been in Sweden for 15 years and has several children here.
The new practice goes against the government's ambition to revoke citizenship and to an increased extent to deport criminal immigrants for life – an ambition that has so far been buried in various investigations with a very long investigation time and did not result in actual legislation.
