– We draw down the capacity, how much electricity we can transfer, so as not to get the trigger in the grid. We did that last night, says Pontus de Maré, director of operations at Svenska kraftnät, to TT.

The strongest solar storm in almost 20 years reached the earth late on Friday, according to the American weather agency NOAA.

p>Last night, the storm led to a Swedish alarm at level five, the second highest level, writes TT.

That the capacity is reduced is not noticed by the public in any other way than through higher electricity prices, if the disturbance lasts for a long time.< /p>
