The website energieleveren.nl has allowed users to register home batteries up to 1 megawatt separately since Tuesday. Previously, this could only be indicated with a check box when registering solar panels.
Netbeheer Nederland, an association of all electricity and gas network operators in the Netherlands, writes that it is mandatory to register a home battery. The association points to the European Regulation Requirements for Generators (RfG) and the Demand Connection Code (DCC). Registration gives grid operators more insight into the load on their electricity grid.
“Owners with registered production installations with the 'Storage available' checkbox checked will be contacted by their grid operator to check whether this is actually the case. of a home battery. If there is a home battery, you will be requested to register it separately via energieleveren.nl,” writes Netbeheer Nederland.
