Users in multiple threads on Reddit are noticing that the News widget has disappeared from their iPhones. This concerns users with the most recent version of iOS, 17.4.1, but also users who are still on iOS 16. The reports come from users all over the world, from European countries such as the Netherlands, Norway and Austria, as well as from users in Singapore. It is striking that there do not yet appear to be any users from the US who would be affected by the problem.
Apple has not yet responded to the message and could not answer questions from Tweakers. It is known that the company is organizing an event on Tuesday, May 7, where it will probably show new iPad Pro models with an OLED screen. It is not known if the removal of the widget is related, but according to a Reddit user, Apple will provide a response on May 8.
