According to information provided to the AP, this week Israel should have informed the US of its plan for how civilians to be evacuated from Rafah. But according to the United States, a functioning plan is still missing.

– Without such a plan, we do not support a major military operation in Rafah because the damage it would cause is beyond what is acceptable, says US Secretary of State Antony Blinken at an appearance in Arizona, according to AFP.

The Biden administration is currently under heavy pressure from university protests against Israel and widespread internal opposition from Democrats.

On Wednesday, Congress criminalized many critical statements about Israel, but the the new penalty provision has, by all accounts, had the opposite effect.

Last night, 88 Democrats in the House of Representatives sent a letter to Biden urging him to stop selling offensive weapons to Israel.
