Just before Christmas 2021, the police were alerted to then Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson's villa in Nacka, where a cleaning lady had triggered the burglar alarm by mistake.

The police then detained the cleaner – who turned out to be a wanted illegal immigrant.

The scandal occurred weeks after Magdalena Andersson was greeted by cheers from the audience when she spoke at the LO congress about putting harder pressure on those who hire foreign workforce.

The cleaner, Chilo Martinez, was expelled from Sweden but sued the CEO of the cleaning company in Sweden and demanded compensation for unpaid wages, vacation pay and damages.

She was helped by the Trade Union Confederation SAC and invoked an almost unknown law from 2013 which states that even illegal immigrants have the right to a fair wage for their work.

The CEO has repeatedly failed to appear in court. So also on Thursday morning when the trial was once again to begin. This time, however, the Nacka district court chose to reject the soul the CEO indicated for his absence. Instead, Chilo Martinez's claims for damages are judged.

She is awarded SEK 81,900 in unpaid wages according to the collective agreement level and vacation pay, and also receives damages of SEK 45,000.

The city entrepreneur is also forced pay the other party's legal costs of a total of SEK 309,456.

Chilo Martinez tells Expressen that she mainly pursued the case for reasons of principle:

– I'm doing it because they didn't behave well towards me when the incident occurred, knowing that I was undocumented, and so that from now on it will be known that we undocumented people have rights in Sweden and that SAC is fighting for our conditions.
