Apple is working on some AI tools to appear in version 18 of Safari. This is what AppleInsider writes. The American tech giant would also like to make some changes to the user interface of the web browser.

The tech website writes that Apple is currently working on three different AI tools for Safari 18: Intelligent Search, Web Eraser and a more extensive version of Visual lookup. The web browser could create summaries of texts on web pages via Intelligent Search. The underlying AI would be able to identify both topics and key phrases from texts and use these as the basis for the summaries. It is not clear whether Apple will use its own AI or rely on the language models of OpenAI or Google for this function.

The American tech company is also said to be working on Web Eraser, an AI tool that allows parts can be blocked from a website. AppleInsider mentions advertisements, images and texts, but also writes that large parts of websites can be blocked. Safari would display a notification when a web page has been modified and then offer the option to undo the changes made via Web Eraser.

AppleInsider also writes that Apple wants to further expand the Visual Lookup feature. This feature was part of iOS 15 and can recognize objects, plants and pets, among other things, via a photo on an iOS device. Apple would now like to introduce this feature in Safari 18. Finally, the American tech company would like to make some changes to Safari's user interface. AppleInsider writes that some different functions of the web browser will be housed in a button that should appear in the address bar.
