TomTom will supply maps for Qualcomm's business IoT platform

TomTom will provide map data and APIs for Qualcomm Aware, Qualcomm's business IoT platform. This allows companies, for example, to track the location and other data of their deliveries in real time.

Qualcomm will use TomTom's data to support its Aware platform, TomTom writes in a press release. TomTom's maps should allow users to track the location and environmental conditions of their 'assets' in real time. Customers can then view this data through the company's APIs, both in the form of map visualizations and on personal dashboards. Qualcomm and TomTom are not sharing financial details about the collaboration.

Qualcomm Aware is an IoT cloud platform designed to manage devices and goods across industries. The platform offers companies, among other things, information about the location of their goods. Qualcomm offers associated hardware for this in the form of trackers that connect to the platform. Logistics companies, for example, use Aware to track their deliveries.
