Domestic. The Left Party's Nooshi Dadgostar is accused of “distancing from the Palestine movement” by refusing to participate in the Left Party's May Day celebration in Stockholm. The decision has sparked an internal battle within the party, specifically between the Stockholm district and the party leadership, according to Proletären.

At the center of the controversy is Kofia, a Palestinian music group that participated in several demonstrations against the war in Gaza.

When the band was invited to the Left Party's May Day event in Kungsträdgården in Stockholm, it was met with resistance from the party leadership – especially from Nooshi Dadgostar and the former party leader Jonas Sjöstedt, according to Proletären .

It is the Stockholm district which organizes the party's May Day celebration in the capital and which invited Kofia.

Nooshi Dadgostar has instead chosen to speak at another event in Gothenburg together with Sjöstedt.

– It is in practice a distancing from the Palestine movement and solidarity with Palestine. She is pulling the party to the right, more than is representative of the party's members. And she knows that the members in Stockholm will be dissatisfied with this, so therefore she pressures the district board internally, says a V source to Proletären.

According to the source, the party leadership does not want to “attract certain groups within the Palestine movement” and they are said to be “afraid of the slogan From the river to the sea”.

The proletarian writes that the reactions from the party leadership have meant that “Kofia has been invited with the elbow; as the last act in the program in Kungsträdgården”. This is so that “leading party representatives can leave the meeting in good time before Kofia plays”.

None of the Left Party's famous or leading names will speak at the party's own celebration in Stockholm.

Stockholm district's chairman August Flensburg denies in an email to Proletären that there is any schism in the matter:

“Nooshi Dadgostar is in Gothenburg with Jonas Sjöstedt because we want to gather party leaders and our listetta in the same place. It is an election campaign and we think it will be strongest that way. In Stockholm, Ilyas Hassan and Andrea Andersson-Tay are speaking. The Left Party Greater Stockholm has a good cooperation with the party central and has had it throughout the planning for May 1.”
