That a left-wing extremist meeting in Gubbängen was attacked and AFA founder Mathias Wåg was subjected to minor abuse has been pointed out by the political and media establishment in Sweden as something “outrageous”.

On Saturday, a thousand left-wing extremists and activists gathered in Gubbängen to carry out an “anti-racist demonstration”.

On site was a delegation from the Liberals, among others. Jan Jönsson (L), opposition councilor in the city of Stockholm, shares on X a picture from the event where he and other L politicians show themselves in front of the camera in Gubbängen.

“Was at the demonstration against racism and extreme right-wing violence in Gubbängen together with a lot of role models from LUF Stockholm today. The square was filled to the brim with people who wanted to show their disgust for racist violence. Political violence can and should never be accepted in a democracy!” writes Jönsson in his post.

Among the participants in the demonstration were also the party leaders Nooshi Dadgostar (V), Magdalena Andersson (S) and Amanda Lind (MP).

– It was an act of terrorism and we can never accept that, thundered Amanda Lind.
