KPN has so far disabled more than three million copper lines. These customers use the fiber optic infrastructure instead. KPN and Glaspoort say they are connected to 59 percent of Dutch households.

In the field of fixed internet, the share of fiber optic customers at KPN exceeded 60 percent for the first time in the past quarter; 39 percent of households that are KPN customers still have an internet subscription via copper connections. In the period in question, KPN added 13,000 new customers who took out a fixed internet subscription.

KPN's total turnover in the first quarter of 2024 was more than 1.37 billion euros, an increase of 3.3 billion. percent compared to the same quarter last year. Net profit nevertheless fell by 11 percent to 175 million euros. According to the telecom provider, this is due to a 'one-off cost item relating to refinancing'.

As far as mobile subscriptions are concerned, KPN's turnover increased by 14 million euros to 204 million euros in the period in question. The provider attributes this increase of almost 8 percent to new subscriptions with different speeds. The company added a total of 30,000 new customers with a mobile subscription.
