Microsoft has released its first preview of Office 2024. Users of both Windows and macOS can purchase a paid preview version of the Long Term Service Channel, which will receive five years of support.
Microsoft writes that a commercial preview of Office 2024 LTSC is available for Windows and macOS. For Windows there is the Professional Plus package and for macOS there is Standard for Mac. Both packages include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and OneNote. The Windows version also includes the Access database tool. There are also packages with Microsoft Project Professional 2024 and Visio Professional 2024.
Microsoft says that the software will receive five years of support within the Fixed Lifecycle policy. According to the company, Microsoft 365 is still the best office suite for many companies, but the standalone Office may be interesting for business users who would like to run the software locally, for example due to regulations or other reasons. Office 2024 should be released later this year.
