Johan Hultberg already reacted during the debate in the chamber to Leonid Yurkovskiy (SD) comparing so-called gender dysphoria with people who believe they are animals.

– There are people who identify as animals, other ages, etcetera. But there are also people who may perceive themselves as overweight when they are actually malnourished, Yurkovskiy said.

Hultberg responded by calling the argument “disgusting” – something he repeated in Aktuellt.

Linda Lindberg hit back.

– I'm not going to stand here and mud-wrestle with Johan. The real issue is that here, from the moderate and liberal side, a bill has been pushed forward about which there are conflicts within the Riksdag group and within the party as a whole, she said.

The gender reassignment law has created conflicts not only between M and SD but perhaps especially between M and the Christian Democrats, who also opposed the law and are a government party.

It is still unknown to the public why M voted through the law even though almost all of their constituents were against it.
