In addition to their six-figure tax-exempt monthly salary, EU parliamentarians also receive approximately SEK 50,000 per month in “office money”.

SVT Nyheter reported earlier this week that four of the Swedish parties refuse to account for what their members do with this money.

The Center Party's Emma Wiesner is one of the politicians who was actually able to explain how she has used the so-called office money.

The politician was quick to ride the wave by announcing that she, together with her parliamentary colleague Abir Al- Sahlani, will donate the two million kroner left over from the office money to Ukraine.

– We get about 45,000 kroner a month, which the parliamentarians put straight into their pockets. We want to put that money in Zelenskyi's pockets instead, says Emma Wiesner in a video.

The politician's film has received around 500 comments on X, and almost all of them are critical or mocking.
