Adobe is working on generative AI tools for Premiere Pro. The new Firefly features allow users to use AI to generate or edit videos. In addition, third-party integrations are possible with other AI models, such as OpenAI's Sora, Runway and Pika Labs.

In a video, the software giant shows what the upcoming AI features in its video editing program should be capable of. For example, it is possible to replace or disappear an object in a video. It is also possible to extend a fragment with generated content. Users can use text prompts to describe what needs to be adjusted.

The third-party AI integrations are in the early stages, according to Adobe. Ultimately, Premiere Pro users should have the ability to edit their videos using features from Sora, Runway, or Pika. Additionally, labels can be attached to the generated clips to identify which AI models were used to create the footage. It is not yet known when exactly the generative AI video tools will become available; Adobe says the release will follow 'this year'.
