A fifth of the voters are in favor of the gender reassignment law

Domestic. Six out of eight of the parties in the Riksdag – including the Moderates – intend to push through the scandal-ridden gender reassignment law. But among voters, only 22 percent believe that the age limit should be lowered in accordance with the proposal.

The opinion poll from TV4 Nyheterna/Verian was carried out on 9 – April 10.

The survey shows that 59 percent consider the proposal to be very or rather bad. At the same time, 22 percent state that the proposal is good, while just under a fifth are doubtful.

There is a big difference between the party blocs. Among the Tidö parties, almost no one thinks the proposal is good – 77 percent think it is bad. Among the opposition parties, that percentage is 40 percent.

In addition to the lowered age limit for legal gender reassignment, Ulf Kristersson's new gender reassignment law also makes it easier for people who believe they were born in the wrong gender to undergo surgical procedures.

< p>On Wednesday, the Riksdag will debate and make a decision on the bill.

At the same time, an almost identical law has – despite massive opposition – been voted through in Germany, something that has strengthened suspicions that the law was ordered from “higher places” .
