Adobe is said to be offering creators between $2.62 and $7.25 per minute to obtain videos for training an AI model. By paying, the company can be sure that it only uses images for the training that are authorized for that purpose.

Video makers receive up to $120 for making available images of everyday situations, Bloomberg reports. The data is needed to train an AI model to generate video. Adobe previously confirmed that it was working on such a feature. It has long had Firefly, a function in Photoshop, among others, for generating images.

Adobe relies on its collection of stock images that it can use royalty-free for training. Because it does not have enough video material for proper training, it is now trying to purchase images from video makers. Sufficient images are needed to generate credible AI images. This includes images of people walking or showing emotions such as anger or fear.

The company does not want to confirm the information. In recent months, there has been a trend of companies licensing and paying to use material as training data for AI models. That used to be different; then companies decided to scrape the Internet and grab all the material they could download, but that practice is legally questionable.

Adobe Firefly. This is not a firefly, by the way.
