Intel will investigate why some games crash on desktop computers with 13th and 14th generation Core i9 processors. The issue appears to be particularly prevalent in some games created with Unreal Engine.

“Intel is aware of issues occurring when performing certain tasks on the 13th and 14th Generation Core processors for desktop PCs and is analyzing them with major partners,” a company spokesperson told ZDNet Korea. The cause of the problem is not yet known.

Users with the processors in question have been experiencing various problems for several months. Some users receive an error message saying there is not enough memory while playing. For others, the game closes on its own. The problem occurs in games such as Tekken 8, Fortnite and Hogwarts Legacy. All those games were developed with Unreal Engine.

Epic Games has informed users what they can do if the problem occurs until Intel comes up with a solution. The company suggests changing the SVID Behavior bios setting to Intel Fail Safe. According to the developer, this works on motherboards from ASUS, Gigabyte and MSI.
