Blizzard Entertainment will release games in China again from the summer. The company stopped this at the beginning of 2023 because it could not reach an agreement with NetEase, the Chinese publisher that released the games in China. This has now been achieved, Blizzard announces.
The first games should return to China this summer. Blizzard does not yet share any concrete plans, but says it will provide more details about this later. In any case, this concerns World of Warcraft and Hearthstone, and 'other titles' in the Warcraft, Overwatch, Diablo and StarCraft series.
In the message, the parties do not indicate what has happened since changed at the end of 2022, when it was announced that Blizzard would stop selling and supporting games in China. Microsoft does indicate in the message that it has entered into an agreement with NetEase to 'investigate' the possibilities of bringing new NetEase titles to Xbox consoles 'and other platforms'.
