Domestic. Three judges from the Sweden Democrats overruled the legal judge in a case in the Administrative Court in Gothenburg and decided that the asylum seeker Hanif Jafari should be deported, writes Dagens Juridik. Now the disgruntled immigrant is appealing the verdict.

Three jurors from SD were drawn to judge the case in the migration court at the Administrative Court in Gothenburg, and Jafari hadn't counted on that with.

The three members followed the Migration Agency's line and decided that the asylum application should be rejected, even though the legal judge wanted to approve it.

– I was very sad and disappointed. But also shocked that all three judges belong to the Sweden Democrats. I did not expect that in a modern country like Sweden. It feels like I had no chance of winning, says Hanif Jafari to Dagens Juridik.

He has now appealed the verdict.

A study from 2015 shows that the risk of an immigrant being granted asylum increases if a judge from the Left Party, the Green Party or the Christian Democrats participates. However, the risk drops if a member of the committee is from the Sweden Democrats, according to the study.
