Senua's Saga: Hellblade II runs at 30fps on Xbox Series X and S

Senua's Saga: Hellblade II runs exclusively at 30fps on the Xbox Series X and S. This is evident from the first previews of the game, which appeared on Thursday. The game also uses a dynamic resolution on consoles.

Mark Slater-Tunstill, visual effects director for Hellblade II, confirms to the German gaming website GamePro that the title runs at 30fps. Moreover, there are no different quality modes available for the game. Nowadays, many console games allow players to choose a graphics mode with better graphics or a performance mode with higher frame rates, but these are missing in Senua's Saga: Hellblade II. The game can be played at higher frame rates on PC.

It also emerged that Tameem Antoniades, the co-founder of Hellblade developer Ninja Theory, has left the company. Parent company Microsoft confirmed this to Polygon, which noted that Antoniades was absent when the medium visited the studio. Antoniades was involved in the early development of Hellblade II, but now three creative leads drive that process: environment art director Dan Attwell, visual effects director Mark Slater-Tunstill and audio director David Garcia.

Senua's Saga: Hellblade II was already announced in 2019.
