Google is said to be working on the Android Private Space feature. Apps contained therein are hidden in the phone's main menu by default. Finding the apps is done via a search bar and opening those apps requires authentication.
The Private Space cannot be backed up, so users will have to set it up again on each device, reports Android Authority. Private Space works with a separate Google account, so data from Private Space cannot leak via, among other things, the history of installed apps. When installing apps, you will be given the option to install them in Private Space.
Android Authority obtains the information from an apk installation file, although its existence had previously been made public. The site also publishes what the feature's setup looks like. Android Authority suspects the feature will be in Android 15, possibly only in Pixel phones. Google itself has not announced anything about this.
