Do you recognize the scammers?

Domestic. The police, in collaboration with “Efterlyst” in TV3, have released a picture of three people who are being hunted for fraud.

Under on the evening of January 16, an unusual event occurred in the Power electronics store in Västra Frölunda in Gothenburg.

Two men and a woman appeared and selected an item to buy. When they got to the checkout to pay with cash, however, they quickly regretted it and wanted to return the product. The cashier began the refund process, but the trio had a special wish – they didn't want the same bills back that they had paid with. Instead, they requested to change to other denominations.

What then followed was a tedious process of money being exchanged back and forth in order to mislead the cashier. Through this method, the fraudsters managed to trick themselves into a larger amount of money than they originally laid out.

This is just one of a number of similar frauds that have been reported in Västra Götaland recently. According to the police, the same group is behind at least the majority of these crimes.
