The month's preliminary maximum snow depth of 172 cm was measured in Katterjåkk, Lapland on March 17.

In terms of precipitation, the month was drier than normal in many places. The exception was parts of Svealand, northwestern Götaland and southernmost Norrland, which were mainly affected by heavy low-pressure traffic in the middle of the month.

The preliminary highest temperature of the month of 16.5° (until and including March 27) was measured in Oskarshamn, Småland on March 15. The 15th was also the hottest day of the month in Svealand (Floda, Södermanland with 14.3°) and northern Norrland (Skellefteå, Västerbotten with 8.8°).
