The new Rockchip RK3582 SoC is 'pin-to-pin compatible' with the Rockchip RK3588S and provides the computing power on the Rock 5C Lite, according to Radxa. The SoC has a CPU with two Cortex-A76 and four Cortex-A55 cores. It is not clear what the clock speed of the processor cores is. A spec sheet published by CNX Software shows that the clock frequencies of the GPU and NPU will also be announced at a later date. The SoC does not have a 3D GPU, but it does have a 2D image processor. Radxa says that the Rock 5C Lite focuses on the essential functions at a lower price. The SBC supports video decoding in up to 8k resolution with a frame rate of 60fps. There are two HDMI 2.1 and a DisplayPort output.
The regular Rock 5C is powered by the Rockchip RK3588S2 SoC, which has a CPU with a total of eight cores, namely four Cortex-A55 and four Cortex-A76 cores. It is not clear whether this chip has a graphics processor with 3D functionality. The cheapest Rock 5C with 2GB of memory costs just under 50 dollars.
