Paul Carlbark last year tried to intervene against a 16-year-old student who was harassing another student with a disability.

He was then attacked by the student, who demanded to know why the teacher was “talking about his mother” .

The incident – which was noticed by several media in January – was caught on film. The video shows how Paul Carlbark manages to defend himself and hold the student against a cupboard.

The video has now been published by Joakim Lamotte, who reviewed the case.

The headmaster at the time considered that the matter was resolved after the teacher and the student apologized to each other. However, Carlbark was later reported to the police by the school and the student's guardian, but the police quickly closed the investigation after seeing the video material and ascertaining that he acted in an emergency.

Despite that, Paul Carlbark was first suspended – and then dismissed during the summer holidays . And not only that. The municipality of Höör has also reported Carlbark to the School Inspectorate, which means that he risks losing his teaching license.

The student was later convicted of threatening an official by the district court, which concluded that Paul Carlbark had acted correctly.

But the municipality's assessment is that the teacher “provoked” the student through the way he spoke and through his body language.

Joakim Lamotte's review paints a different picture of the incident than the one that the principal and municipal managers communicate to the outside.

“While they portray the student as a victim, I can show that he has a history of drug sales, assault and aggravated unlawful threats,” he writes.

– I was terribly afraid because I did not know if he had a weapon with itself. I was scared to death that I was going to be stabbed, says Paul Carlbark to Lamotte.

Paul Carlbark says the student spat in his hair during the incident.

– He says: “I swear my mother I'm going to box you.”

Joakim Lamotte also has hidden recordings which, according to him, show that the director of education Marie Nilsson “does not consider that emergency response is a scientific pedagogical method that teachers should use”.
